2020 Advent Calendar - A Hard Candy Christmas

I’ve been dyeing for 1 ½ years now, and this entire time, I have wanted to do a Yarn Advent Calendar. THIS IS THE YEAR!

With only half the year over, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to throw 2020 out the window! In honor of this life-sucking, joy-stealing year, I am naming this inaugural year’s Yarn Advent Calendar “Hard Candy Christmas” from the Dolly Parton song. I have my color inspiration – a piece of holiday home swag I purchased at The Restore, which gives me so much joy to have around – also a reminder to me that something bought for repurposing brings beauty and joy to my life.

There are ONLY 50 Hard Candy Christmas Advent Calendars available for purchase this inaugural year, so if you’re at all interested, please do not wait. There will be no last-minute additional quantities. Pre-orders are now open!

This Hard Candy Christmas Yarn Advent Calendar will include 24 individually and secretly wrapped 20g or 92 yards of 75% Superwash merino/25% nylon 2ply fingering weight skeins. I am deep in color development now, and I cannot wait for you to see this box of yarny fun. Each yarn bundle will be numbered for you to open your gifts each day leading up to the BIG 25^th. There will be tonals, speckles and variegated yarns in this SUPER FUN pack. This box filled with goodies & surprises also will include pattern suggestions to give you choices in how to use your Hard Candy Christmas box.

Boxes will be shipped by Nov. 13 for you to open your first gift on Dec. 1. If you are local to Williamsburg, Va., Yarn Advent Calendar boxes can be picked up beginning Nov. 13 at The Flying Needles. 

The yarn in this box will be superwash, but for best results, we recommend hand-washing with very light agitation and drying flat.

WHAT IS AN ADVENT CALENDAR? A Yarn Advent Calendar is a yarn package filled with delight! You (ideally) open a surprise mini-skein daily (if you can manage holding off). Each day’s surprise is individually gift-wrapped and numbered for each day Dec. 1 through Dec. 24.

HERE’s the BEST PART! Because this year has been extremely difficult for a lot of people, I am accepting donations to gift two people this year’s Hard Candy Christmas Advent Calendar.
