 Thank you for your interest in Robin's Promise Yarn Co.! I appreciate that you're taking time out of your busy schedule and have found something that interests you on my site!
Below are a few FAQs that will help you navigate choosing your yarn. I will continue to add to this page as new questions arise.

 

Do you have a brick and mortar? No, I do not. My studio is commercial space and is not open to the public. 

 

All of my yarns are dyed by me, Susan. I rinse all yarns until the water runs clear. That being said, conditions in your home, including your water, are not created equal. Do your colors bleed?
Be sure to knit without any chemicals, including lotions, on your hands. The water in your home is likely very different than the water in my studio, which can affect how much a yarn bleeds. Also, what additives are you using to rinse the yarn? Is there agitation? All of these things can cause yarns to bleed. If you are concerned about yarn bleeding, test wash a swatch of all the colors you wish to use in your handmade garment, especially if you're mixing colors.

 

Why are your colors not uniform?
I hand-dye 5 to 6 skeins per pan. The hand-dye process is not exact and can change with water chemical changes, humidity and other factors. With most customers, this is a prized factor in their purchase. If you don't like the difference in hand-dyed yarns, then I would suggest you turn your eye to a commercially dyed yarn that will have the uniformity you want. 

 

Return Policy?
We do not accept returns. All sales are final.

 

I cut my yarn opening my package, can you replace my yarn?
Every package we ship is packaged with at least 2 inches of clearance from the yarn. The yarn will shift in transit. Upon arrival, we recommend opening your package with your hands. Do NOT use scissors or blades to open your package as you will run the risk of cutting your yarn.  

 

When do you ship?
All orders are shipped Tuesday through Thursday. We will not ship on Mondays or Fridays.

If we are at a show, we will not ship the week prior to the show and a few days following the show to allow for packing up and unloading. 

 

Can I special order a quantity of color or a special color way?

I purchased a 10-mini-skein set and I don't like one of the colors. Can I exchange the one mini-skein I don't like?
The 10-mini-skein sets are a set, and pieces cannot be exchanged. 

 

I'm on your website and cannot put a yarn in my cart. What's going on? 
My website is a catalog of all my colors. If you cannot put an item into your cart, that means I do not have the color in stock currently. Should you need something right away, please feel free to email me at robins promise yarn at gmail dot com. I do not promise I can work your color into my dyeing rotation, but I can let you know if it's up on the dye boards any time soon.
