**Welcome to 2023’s Robin’s Promise Yarn Subscription! This year’s theme is a View Into Space.
I, like so many other people I’ve talked to, was moved beyond words at the images dropped from the Webb Telescope this past year. Launched on Dec 25, 2021, the Webb Telescope has dropped the most breathtaking images from this infrared, $10 billion telescope. The first images were released on July 11, 2022, and I have been in love ever since. I first contemplated a series of yarns to be released this year, but after doing some additional research, I really like the idea of these images being released monthly in 2023 - it also allows for 2023 images to be included.
I will release yarn colors once a month that will not be released to the public. Each month will also have a complementary color. This year, I will be adding my Tough Little Birds Bluefaced Leicester as a sock set, which includes a full skein of the main monthly color on either Tough Little Birds or Songbird fingering and a complementary mini skein (will be the month’s complementary color).
All of your choices - the mini-skeins, Songbird Fingering, and Two Sparrows DK - are 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon. The minis have 92 yards; Songbird Fingering 463 yards; and Two Sparrows DK 243 yards. Tough Little Birds Fingering is 75% Bluefaced Leicester and 25% nylon with 464 yards. This tough yarn is incomparable for sock knitters as the BFL resists pilling and has a longer staple, which makes an extra tough fabric perfect for footwear. We have worked with all of the these yarns and just adore our bases.
Each month, your subscription will come with a gift and suggested patterns for the yarn you have chosen. All suggested patterns will be via Ravelry. The pattern will NOT be included, but you are welcome to head over to Ravelry and check out our suggestions (did you know Ravelry now has more than 1 million patterns?).
There are five levels of subscription. You can purchase a 12-, 9- , 6-, 3- month or one month at a time subscription. Subscriptions reset in January 2024.
We can't wait to show you what we have in store for you in 2023! Susan has already started her inspiration board, which include some of the product photos. That being said, she may or may not use the product photos as inspiration.
